Friday link love!

Hello,

How is it going?

Yesterday I attended a Women’s Day event, and I ate a bowl of salad. See image above.

As I wrote on Instagram, I don’t believe in allocating a day to celebrate women and go back to our ways rest of the 364 days. And the salad, lol, that’s a whole different conversation. But honestly, both parts of that sentence went well. It was nice to exchange ideas and thoughts on pertinent issues, and the salad was yumm. So all in all, a fun evening.

Speaking of delicious, have you read this article about all things delicious our forests give us.

“Nearly every other bush on our trail was a fruit-bearing karvanda plant, and we snacked on these sweet, juicy berries throughout our walk. Hidden in the soil underneath many of those criss-crossing vines was an underground storehouse of edible tubers, several times healthier and tastier than market potatoes, and Bua dug some out with a pickaxe to show us how much free food existed here.”

Waldorf by the Adyar– by Nina Varghese

“Waldorf, a popular haunt of young people in the 1970s, hasn’t changed much. It still had the red Chinese lanterns, and place mats that help you find your sign in the Chinese horoscope so you can read your fortune while you wait. The American chop suey arrived, replete with the tomato sauce, and tasted much the same. But unfortunately, our taste buds had matured and we were now used to more subtle flavours. However, the fried rice and chilly beef did take us back to the old glory days. The prices stayed reasonable and the service, quick and excellent. Just as it used to be! Minus the MSG, of course.”
