“If you’re tired of the regular takeout and want to order some locally made delectable Chinese, to add some zing to your dining, check out noodleplay.in”. This venture aims to fill your hunger pangs with delicious Chinese food. Founders Hitesh and Rozina share their journey with us on The Yellow Turmeric.
“Rozina is an entrepreneur and runs a large tech staffing business. She hates cooking and orders take away frequently. Rozina is also a post graduate in HR from Symbiosis and has a passion for finance. You would often hear her saying that if she wasn’t in HR, she would have definitely been a Chartered Accountant. “ Hitesh on the other hand is a passionate foodie and in his own words “ loves everything food. I have a hotel management background and, I have worked in the Taj Group of hotels as a chef. I believe every chef is an artist and every dish his/her creation.”
Hitesh and Rozina decided to start Noodle Play after their own experiences with food delivery. “The concept was born more from the need of a good take away experience.” Hitesh and Rozina felt that most restaurants that deliver food forget to include the experience part. They decided to make Noodle Play an online restaurant thereby enabling them to focus on the delivery module.
“One of the biggest challenges was getting people to work with us. Most people want to work in larger restaurants or 5 star properties. Getting them to come and work for Noodle Play was a challenge. But once they came on board, they understood what was being built here.”
The Noodle Play team share with us how the menu is revisited on a monthly basis. The chef and operations team sit once a month and discuss what has sold and what has not. Accordingly they introduce new dishes and remove the slow moving ones. “The idea has always been to ensure our customers have fun when they eat. Hence, Noodle “play”.”
When asked how they gauged a potential market for this venture, they were quick to respond “Its Asian food! Clearly has been the largest food ordered home and will be so always.” They sum their response from customers in one word- “FANTABULOUS!” When asked what advice they would give future food entrepreneurs, they reply with a dash of humor “DON’T!”, but on a serious note Hitesh says , “If you want to, be prepared to work hard and I mean it.”
Noodle Play plans to expand adding more stores in the near future. “100 stores in the next 18-24 months.”, they confirm giving us the details.
