As I sit down to type these words, the window near my desk paints a gloomy picture. Cloudy skies leave little room for sunshine. The rains from last night have left behind a dull coat on the surrounding concrete, adding to the Monday blues. But, I will not complain as we have been praying for such days. This is a welcome respite for the city of Bengaluru, which emerged from an April that had little to do with water. With soaring temperatures that broke previous records, April 2024 was also the first time in 41 years that the India Meteorological Department (IMD) recorded 0 mm rainfall in India’s Silicon Valley.
